Spa Policies, Etiquette and Frequently Asked Questions

What Facilities Can I Use When I Come?

Access to the resort fitness centre, indoor pool, hot tub and steam room, is complementary with your Living Shore Spa appointment, one hour before or after your treatment. We also have a wonderful rooftop view (seasonally) with lounge chairs for you to relax on before or after your treatment.

How Do I Book an Appointment?

To ensure the greatest selection of time and service, we recommend booking your spa appointments well in advance of your arrival. A valid credit card is required to book your spa appointment. We highly recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment in order to take advantage of the facilities and enjoy a few peaceful moments before your service.

What if I Arrive Late?

Please keep in mind that if you arrive late for your scheduled appointment, we will still need to complete the service at the originally scheduled time in consideration of the next guest.

What Is the Minimum Age to Enjoy the Spa?

Guests must be 18 years of age or older to enjoy the Aquapath hydrotherapy experience. All other services facial, massage, body treatments and waxing are available for guests 16 years of age or older. Guests 5-12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to enjoy a Junior Manicure or Pedicure.

How/When Do I Tip for Service?

Gratuities are not included in the service prices. Gratuities for your therapist or Aquapath attendant may be added at your discretion at the time of payment.

I’ve Never Been to a Spa. What Is Basic Spa Etiquette?

We respectfully request that our guests please speak softly within the spa. Cellular phones, recording devices and outside food and beverages are not permitted at any time. Robes and sandals are provided at the spa. Our therapists use professional draping techniques to ensure your privacy and comfort. Swimsuits are required to enjoy the Aquapath hydrotherapy treatment.

What Is the Cancellation Policy?

We have reserved this time especially for you. In the event you  are unable to keep your appointment time, please notify us as soon as possible. Your appointment can be changed or cancelled up to 48 hours prior to your appointment time at no charge. Changes or cancellations within 48 hours are charged as follows:

  • A cancellation or change within 48 hours is subject to a 50% charge applied to the credit card you reserved with.
  • A cancellation or change within 24 hours is subject to a 100% charge applied to the credit card you reserved with.
  • No Show appointments will be charged 100% of the price of the service booked, applied to the credit card you reserved with.
  • For groups to avoid change or cancellation charges, we require 7 days notice.

Reserving your appointment at Living Shore Spa is acknowledgement of this cancellation and change policy.

Can I Enjoy the Spa If I Have a Health Condition?

Health conditions and contraindications for spa services are as follows: At Living Shore Spa, we want you to enjoy a safe, nurturing and relaxing experience. Some of our services are not recommended for guests with certain health conditions including allergies, high blood pressure, thyroid conditions and pregnancy. More serious health conditions require a doctor’s permission. Please inquire at the time of appointment reservation.

The Aquapath hydrotherapy treatment may not be appropriate for guests with mobility issues. Guests must be able to climb stairs, and raise and lower themselves into a tub.

What Should I Bring or Wear for My Spa Experience?

A robe, sandals and a locker to secure your belongings is provided. We supply shampoo, conditioner, shower caps, and hair dryers. Please remember your personal items such as hair brush and other toiletries you may need. Swimsuits must be worn in the Aquapath.

If you are having a pedicure, we suggest that you bring open-toe shoes so you do not smudge your polish. Polish will dry to the touch but does take 24 hours before it cures. We do not recommend a pedicure with polish before enjoying the Aquapath or swimming.

Living Shore Spa is not responsible for lost or misplaced items. Valuables are best left at home.

Can I Get an Insurance Receipts?

Living Shore Spa’s commitment is to relaxation; we are not a massage therapy clinic and most of our therapists are relaxation therapists, certified in their profession.

If you require a deep-tissue, therapeutic massage — or a receipt for your insurance provider — you must request and reserve an appointment with a registered massage therapist (RMT). A receipt will be provided for the amount paid by the guest for RMT services (excluding gift certificate payments or voucher payments) for reimbursement under an insurance benefit plan. Insurance receipts are not available for relaxation massages.
